Officially Start of Korea Halla Okke 29.5MW WHRPP Project

On November 27th, the contract of HALLA OKKE 29.5MW Waste Heat Recovery Power Plant (WHRPP) to be constructed in South Korea between STEC and EG Corporation was officially started. As early as this May, in Seoul, Korea, on behalf of the company, Mr. Yao Dan, Chairman and General Manager of STEC, and Mr. Cho YongHyun, General Manager of EG Corporation Engineering Department signedthe EP contract.

As the EPC contractor and EP sub-contractor, EG and STEC together undertake theproject. HALLA OKKE cement plant belongs to Lafarge Halla Cement Co., founded in 1978, is the leader of Korea cement industry, and the pioneer who firstly established the AF/ARM Laboratory and Concrete Material Analysis Laboratory. As one of the main factories of Lafarge Halla Cement Co., HALLA OKKE cement plant has completed 4 cement production lines since 1985, with the annual cement production of 7.6 million tons. #2, #3 and #4 lines are taken the lead in constructing with WHR system, the scale of each cement production line is 5300 t/d.

HALLA OKKE WHRPP project with with the installed capacity of 29.5 MW is set of 9 boilers and 1 turbine-generator set is the biggest export order of STEC. It will be the project with the highest installed capacity for a single set of turbine-generator ever in the world. The successful signing of the contract opened the cooperation chapter between STEC and Lafarge Halla Cement Co., and made contribution to STEC for marketing explanation in Korea.

The project aims to realize cost saving and profits increasing, energy conservation and emissions reduction, which will become Halla’s demonstration project in energy upgrading field.
