On September 19, 2022, the launch ceremony of the second phase of the new energy photovoltaic cell packaging materials and CO2 capture and purification project of China Building Materials (Hefei) was held in Hefei. Zhou Yuxian, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of CNBM., Secretary of the Party Committee and CNBM, Cao Dewang, Chairman of Fuyao Glass Industry Group, Yuan Fei, Member of the Standing Committee of Hefei Municipal Party Committee, and Chang Zhangli, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of CNBM., Peng Shou, Academician of the CAE Member,Chief engineer of CNBM and Chairman of Triumph Group, Zhang Jian, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of TriumphGroup, etc. attended the event.

The CO2 capture and purification project is contracted by Shanghai Triumph Energy Conservation Engineering Co., Ltd. (STEC). The independently developed CO2 capture and purification technology of glass furnace is applied to the glass production line for the first time in this project, with an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of liquid CO2 and the innovative process of pressure swing adsorption coupled with adsorption distillation is adopted. With 35% CO2 in the flue gas of glass furnace as raw material, the liquid CO2 with a purity of 99.99% is produced through flue gas treatment, CO2 capture, compression, rectification and liquefaction, and the product quality reaches the national food level standard. The formal launch of the project will help CNBM to build a full life cycle "building materials+" integrated green industrial chain, and contribute to building materials for the country to achieve the strategic goal of "carbon neutrality".

After the speech and the ignition ceremony, the guests first visited the CO2 capture and purification work area. Gao Yanfei, General Manager of STEC, introduced the project characteristics, process route, product indicators and subsequent planning. Chairman Zhou Yuxian, Chairman Cao Dewang, municipal leaders and other guests at all levels visited and exchanged views, and expressed strong interest in and full affirmation of the project. Relevant leaders of Hefei City, relevant leaders and department heads of CNBM, relevant leaders of Triumph Group and relevant personnel participated in this activity.
