Mozambique Self-Owned Power Project was Successfully Synchronized to the Grid for Power Generation.

Date:2024-12-13

At 23:12 on December 10, 2024, the Mozambique Nacala cement 12MW self-owned power project, contracted by STEC., was successfully synchronized to the grid for power generation. This project is also the 4th project successfully implemented by the company in Africa.

To ensure the smooth completion of the project, STEC has dispatched a project department composed of professional management and technical elites who are not afraid of the scorching heat and malaria risks, strictly follow the safety management and construction quality requirements of the group, and strictly control every detail of the project. After 7 months of intense construction and close cooperation with the installation team, the project was finally successfully connected to the grid for power generation. The successful implementation of this project not only reflects the leading position of STEC in the field of energy-saving technology, but also highlights the company's efficiency and professionalism in international project management and execution.
The successful operation of Mozambique's self-owned power station is the signal of the customer's arrival at an annual energy-saving benefit of up to 96 million kilowatt hours. The power station is equipped with the cutting-edge islanded operation micro-grid system, which will effectively solve the long-term problems of power shortage, poor power quality, and unstable power supply faced by the plant location, thereby avoiding production interruptions, equipment damage, economic losses, and safety risks. It not only provides a solid and reliable energy support for the production and operation of cement plants, but also greatly promotes the improvement of local infrastructure and the acceleration of industrialization in Mozambique.
The outstanding contribution of STEC in the Mozambique project once again illuminates a brilliant chapter of deepening friendship and cooperation between China and Africa. As a positive responder and practitioner of the national "the Belt and Road" initiative, STEC has set a new benchmark for international cooperation through practical actions, and injected strong Chinese wisdom and momentum into the realization and promotion of the global "double carbon" goal. In addition, the company's self-owned power plant project in Malawi, Africa is steadily progressing and is expected to be put into operation in October 2025, marking another important milestone for STEC in promoting energy infrastructure construction and sustainable development in Africa
